This o-ring is supplied in AS568-246 black Buna-N (Nitrile) 90 Shore A supplied with an inside diameter of 4.484 in (113.89 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.762 in (120.95 mm), catalogued under part number H90246. It seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

It resists greases and lubricants, petroleum-based oils, and water. Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for low compression set under sustained load and the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in polar solvents or ketones.
