APG stocks the H90M1.6X9.1, a black Buna-N (Nitrile) 90 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 9.1 mm (0.358 in), a cross section of 1.6 mm (0.063 in), and an outside diameter of 12.3 mm (0.48 in). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

As a material, Buna-N (Nitrile) is valued for low compression set under sustained load and the most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer. Expect good resistance to water, petroleum-based oils, and many alcohols. Continuous operating temperature is published at -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). Applications involving ozone and direct sunlight or ketones call for a different compound.
