APG stocks the TFE024, an AS568-024 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring with an inside diameter of 1.114 in (28.3 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.254 in (31.85 mm). An o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

The compound resists steam, oxidizing media, and solvents. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and a very wide continuous service temperature range. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature.
