This o-ring is supplied in AS568-104 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D measuring an inside diameter of 0.112 in (2.84 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.318 in (8.08 mm), catalogued under part number TFE104. It delivers dependable bidirectional sealing in a compact groove envelope.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is specified for excellent dielectric properties and a very wide continuous service temperature range. The compound resists steam, nearly all industrial chemicals, and oxidizing media. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals call for a different compound.
