568-162 PTFE ORINGS FDA

Ordered as TFE162, this is an AS568-162 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 5.737 in (145.72 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.943 in (150.95 mm). The o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) delivers a very wide continuous service temperature range and near-universal chemical inertness. It resists oxidizing media, nearly all industrial chemicals, and steam. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery will shorten service life.
