568-169 PTFE ORINGS FDA

This o-ring is supplied in AS568-169 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D with an inside diameter of 7.487 in (190.17 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.693 in (195.4 mm), catalogued under part number TFE169. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

PTFE (Teflon) is valued for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. The material holds up against steam, solvents, and strong acids and bases. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery.
