This o-ring is supplied in AS568-273 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D measuring an inside diameter of 9.734 in (247.24 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 10.012 in (254.3 mm), catalogued under part number TFE273. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

It resists solvents, steam, and strong acids and bases. PTFE (Teflon) is valued for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C).

Typical settings include chemical processing, food and beverage, and semiconductor fabrication.
