Ordered as TFE277, this is an AS568-277 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 11.484 in (291.69 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 11.762 in (298.75 mm). The o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

It resists solvents, strong acids and bases, and nearly all industrial chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) offers a very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals will shorten service life.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, pharmaceutical and biotech, and laboratory equipment.
