APG stocks the TFE470, an AS568-470 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 20.955 in (532.26 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 21.505 in (546.23 mm). An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The compound resists strong acids and bases, nearly all industrial chemicals, and oxidizing media. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is specified for a very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). Applications involving elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery call for a different compound.
