Part number TFE909 is an AS568-909 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring with an inside diameter of 0.706 in (17.93 mm), a cross section of 0.097 in (2.46 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.9 in (22.86 mm). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

PTFE (Teflon) is valued for a very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. The compound resists strong acids and bases, solvents, and steam. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals are present.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, laboratory equipment, and aggressive-media pipelines.
