568-008 PTFE ORINGS FDA

The TFE008 is an AS568-008 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.176 in (4.47 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.316 in (8.03 mm). This o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

This material stands up to strong acids and bases, solvents, and oxidizing media. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) delivers a very wide continuous service temperature range and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature will shorten service life.

Common environments for this compound include laboratory equipment, aggressive-media pipelines, and food and beverage.
