The TFE018 is an AS568-018 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring with an inside diameter of 0.739 in (18.77 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.879 in (22.33 mm). This o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for near-universal chemical inertness and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. The material holds up against steam, oxidizing media, and solvents. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery call for a different compound.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, pharmaceutical and biotech, and aggressive-media pipelines.
