APG stocks the TFE031, an AS568-031 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 1.739 in (44.17 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.879 in (47.73 mm). An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is specified for near-universal chemical inertness and a very wide continuous service temperature range. It resists solvents, nearly all industrial chemicals, and strong acids and bases. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. Applications involving service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature call for a different compound.
