APG stocks the TFE047, an AS568-047 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 4.489 in (114.02 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.629 in (117.58 mm). An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is valued for excellent dielectric properties and near-universal chemical inertness. The material holds up against nearly all industrial chemicals, strong acids and bases, and oxidizing media. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals are present.
