568-049 PTFE ORINGS FDA

Part number TFE049 is an AS568-049 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 4.989 in (126.72 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.129 in (130.28 mm). An o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for near-universal chemical inertness and excellent dielectric properties. Expect good resistance to oxidizing media, steam, and strong acids and bases. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals are present.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical and biotech.
