Ordered as TFE050, this is an AS568-050 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 5.239 in (133.07 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.379 in (136.63 mm). The o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

This material stands up to steam, solvents, and nearly all industrial chemicals. PTFE (Teflon) is specified for excellent dielectric properties and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. Applications involving service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals call for a different compound.

It sees regular use in laboratory equipment, pharmaceutical and biotech, and aggressive-media pipelines.
