568-105 PTFE ORINGS FDA

The TFE105 is an AS568-105 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 0.143 in (3.63 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.349 in (8.86 mm). This o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) delivers a very wide continuous service temperature range and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. The material holds up against oxidizing media, steam, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature call for a different compound.

It sees regular use in laboratory equipment, chemical processing, and food and beverage.
