This o-ring is supplied in AS568-116 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D built to an inside diameter of 0.737 in (18.72 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.943 in (23.95 mm), catalogued under part number TFE116. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.
It resists oxidizing media, nearly all industrial chemicals, and solvents. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is specified for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and a very wide continuous service temperature range. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature call for a different compound.
You will find this material specified across pharmaceutical and biotech, semiconductor fabrication, and chemical processing.
Order part number TFE116, sold individually. Nominal inside diameter is listed as 3/4 inch. Check the compound against your process media, pressure and temperature before committing to a design.
