The TFE137 is an AS568-137 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 2.05 in (52.07 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.256 in (57.3 mm). This o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

The compound resists nearly all industrial chemicals, oxidizing media, and strong acids and bases. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is specified for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and near-universal chemical inertness. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals.

It sees regular use in semiconductor fabrication, aggressive-media pipelines, and chemical processing.
