The TFE164 is an AS568-164 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring with an inside diameter of 6.237 in (158.42 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.443 in (163.65 mm). This o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

The material holds up against nearly all industrial chemicals, steam, and strong acids and bases. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is specified for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C).

Common environments for this compound include semiconductor fabrication, food and beverage, and aggressive-media pipelines.
