This o-ring is supplied in AS568-167 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D supplied with an inside diameter of 6.987 in (177.47 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.193 in (182.7 mm), catalogued under part number TFE167. It seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Expect good resistance to strong acids and bases, oxidizing media, and nearly all industrial chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is known for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature.
