568-217 PTFE ORINGS FDA

The TFE217 is an AS568-217 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring with an inside diameter of 1.171 in (29.74 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.449 in (36.8 mm). This o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for a very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. Expect good resistance to strong acids and bases, steam, and oxidizing media. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery will shorten service life.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, semiconductor fabrication, and food and beverage.
