568-219 PTFE ORINGS FDA

This o-ring is supplied in AS568-219 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D supplied with an inside diameter of 1.296 in (32.92 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.574 in (39.98 mm), catalogued under part number TFE219. It seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. It resists solvents, oxidizing media, and nearly all industrial chemicals. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature.
