This o-ring is supplied in AS568-236 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D with an inside diameter of 3.234 in (82.14 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.512 in (89.2 mm), catalogued under part number TFE236. It provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

The compound resists nearly all industrial chemicals, solvents, and steam. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for a very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals.
