This o-ring is supplied in AS568-238 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D measuring an inside diameter of 3.484 in (88.49 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.762 in (95.55 mm), catalogued under part number TFE238. It creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

The material holds up against oxidizing media, steam, and strong acids and bases. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) delivers near-universal chemical inertness and a very wide continuous service temperature range. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature call for a different compound.
