Ordered as TFE242, this is an AS568-242 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 3.984 in (101.19 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.262 in (108.25 mm). The o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

The compound resists solvents, oxidizing media, and nearly all industrial chemicals. PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for excellent dielectric properties and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C).
