Part number TFE246 is an AS568-246 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring with an inside diameter of 4.484 in (113.89 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.762 in (120.95 mm). An o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for near-universal chemical inertness and excellent dielectric properties. It resists solvents, steam, and oxidizing media. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery will shorten service life.
