Ordered as TFE258, this is an AS568-258 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 5.984 in (151.99 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.262 in (159.05 mm). The o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The material holds up against oxidizing media, strong acids and bases, and solvents. PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and excellent dielectric properties. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals.

It sees regular use in aggressive-media pipelines, pharmaceutical and biotech, and laboratory equipment.
