Part number TFE362 is an AS568-362 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 6.225 in (158.12 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.645 in (168.78 mm). An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

The compound resists strong acids and bases, steam, and nearly all industrial chemicals. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) delivers a very wide continuous service temperature range and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals call for a different compound.
