Ordered as TFE389, this is an AS568-389 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 19.953 in (506.81 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 20.373 in (517.47 mm). The o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

This material stands up to nearly all industrial chemicals, strong acids and bases, and oxidizing media. PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for excellent dielectric properties and near-universal chemical inertness. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. Applications involving service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals call for a different compound.
