The TFE425 is an AS568-425 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring with an inside diameter of 4.475 in (113.67 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.025 in (127.64 mm). This o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Expect good resistance to strong acids and bases, steam, and oxidizing media. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) offers near-universal chemical inertness and excellent dielectric properties. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Applications involving molten alkali metals or service requiring elastic recovery call for a different compound.
