568-428 PTFE ORINGS FDA

Ordered as TFE428, this is an AS568-428 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 4.85 in (123.19 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.4 in (137.16 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

It resists steam, strong acids and bases, and solvents. PTFE (Teflon) delivers near-universal chemical inertness and a very wide continuous service temperature range. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature are present.

Typical settings include laboratory equipment, pharmaceutical and biotech, and chemical processing.
