The TFE429 is an AS568-429 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 4.975 in (126.37 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.525 in (140.34 mm). This o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Expect good resistance to oxidizing media, steam, and solvents. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for excellent dielectric properties and near-universal chemical inertness. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, laboratory equipment, and aggressive-media pipelines.
