Part number TFE447 is an AS568-447 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring with an inside diameter of 8.975 in (227.97 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.525 in (241.94 mm). An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

This material stands up to nearly all industrial chemicals, strong acids and bases, and solvents. PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for near-universal chemical inertness and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). Exposure to elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery will shorten service life.
