APG stocks the TFE453, an AS568-453 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 11.975 in (304.17 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 12.525 in (318.14 mm). An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. This material stands up to solvents, steam, and strong acids and bases. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Exposure to molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature will shorten service life.
