TFE460 is an AS568-460 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 15.475 in (393.07 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 16.025 in (407.04 mm). In service, this o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and near-universal chemical inertness. The compound resists solvents, nearly all industrial chemicals, and strong acids and bases. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C).
