The TFE462 is an AS568-462 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 16.455 in (417.96 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 17.005 in (431.93 mm). This o-ring delivers dependable bidirectional sealing in a compact groove envelope.

The material holds up against strong acids and bases, solvents, and oxidizing media. PTFE (Teflon) delivers a very wide continuous service temperature range and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals.

Typical settings include aggressive-media pipelines, chemical processing, and food and beverage.
