568-916 PTFE ORINGS FDA

Ordered as TFE916, this is an AS568-916 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 1.171 in (29.74 mm), a cross section of 0.116 in (2.95 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.403 in (35.64 mm). The o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

The material holds up against nearly all industrial chemicals, steam, and oxidizing media. PTFE (Teflon) is known for a very wide continuous service temperature range and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It should not be specified for service in service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature.

It sees regular use in semiconductor fabrication, chemical processing, and laboratory equipment.
