QV70166 is an AS568-166 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 6.737 in (171.12 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.943 in (176.35 mm). In service, this quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

This material stands up to petroleum oils and fuels, engine and transmission fluids, and many acids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is specified for the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to low-molecular-weight organic acids or amines will shorten service life.
