QV70171 is an AS568-171 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 7.987 in (202.87 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.193 in (208.1 mm). In service, this quad-ring seats in a standard o-ring gland while offering improved dynamic performance.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is specified for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. This material stands up to engine and transmission fluids, many acids, and petroleum oils and fuels. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to amines or hot water and steam will shorten service life.

Typical settings include semiconductor equipment, high-temperature process equipment, and oil and gas.
