Ordered as QV70453, this is an AS568-453 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 11.975 in (304.17 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 12.525 in (318.14 mm). The quad-ring provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is valued for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The compound resists engine and transmission fluids, chlorinated solvents, and aggressive chemicals. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving ketones and esters or hot water and steam call for a different compound.

It sees regular use in aerospace, semiconductor equipment, and oil and gas.
