The quad-ring delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

The material holds up against chlorinated solvents, petroleum oils and fuels, and aggressive chemicals. Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for outstanding high-temperature capability and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where ketones and esters or amines are present.
