APG stocks the S70FDA132, an AS568-132 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 1.737 in (44.12 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.943 in (49.35 mm). An o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

The compound resists many oxidizing chemicals, ozone and UV exposure, and weathering. Silicone is valued for physiological inertness and low toxicity, very good compression set resistance across its range. Service temperature is rated from -80°F (-62.2°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). It should not be specified for service in steam above its rated range or hydrocarbon fuels and oils.

The compound meets FDA requirements for food contact, is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Typical settings include medical devices, electronics and electrical enclosures, and ovens and heated equipment.
