-005 RED SILICONE 70D O-RING

Part number S70MD005 is an AS568-005 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.101 in (2.57 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.241 in (6.12 mm). An o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

Silicone is specified here for excellent electrical insulating properties and very good compression set resistance across its range. The compound resists many oxidizing chemicals, weathering, and extreme heat and cold. Rated temperature range runs from -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. Applications involving concentrated acids or steam above its rated range call for a different compound.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. It sees regular use in ovens and heated equipment, food and beverage processing, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
