This o-ring is supplied in AS568-206 red Silicone 70 Shore A supplied with an inside diameter of 0.484 in (12.29 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.762 in (19.35 mm), catalogued under part number S70MD206. It compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Silicone is widely chosen for an exceptionally wide service temperature range and very good compression set resistance across its range. The material holds up against extreme heat and cold, many oxidizing chemicals, and dry heat. Continuous operating temperature is published at -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C).

This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. It sees regular use in pharmaceutical manufacturing, electronics and electrical enclosures, and medical devices.
