-229 RED SILICONE 70D O-RING

APG stocks the S70MD229, an AS568-229 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 2.359 in (59.92 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.637 in (66.98 mm). An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Expect good resistance to dry heat, ozone and UV exposure, and extreme heat and cold. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone is widely chosen for very good compression set resistance across its range and an exceptionally wide service temperature range. Rated temperature range runs from -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in steam above its rated range or abrasive dynamic service.

This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. It sees regular use in sanitary process lines, food and beverage processing, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
