Silicone is specified here for physiological inertness and low toxicity, exceptionally wide service temperature range. Expect good resistance to dry heat, extreme heat and cold, and ozone and UV exposure. Rated temperature range runs from -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. Exposure to hydrocarbon fuels and oils or steam above its rated range will shorten service life.

This o-ring is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Typical settings include ovens and heated equipment, sanitary process lines, and electronics and electrical enclosures.
