-242 RED SILICONE 70D O-RING

Ordered as S70MD242, this is an AS568-242 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 3.984 in (101.19 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.262 in (108.25 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

This material stands up to dry heat, many oxidizing chemicals, and extreme heat and cold. Silicone is known for an exceptionally wide service temperature range and very good compression set resistance across its range. Continuous operating temperature is published at -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C).

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Common environments for this compound include ovens and heated equipment, food and beverage processing, and electronics and electrical enclosures.
