Ordered as S70MD257, this is an AS568-257 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 5.859 in (148.82 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.137 in (155.88 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Silicone is widely chosen for flexibility that holds at very low temperatures and very good compression set resistance across its range. The material holds up against extreme heat and cold, weathering, and dry heat. Rated temperature range runs from -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service.
