APG stocks the S70MD112, an AS568-112 red Silicone 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 0.487 in (12.37 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.693 in (17.6 mm). An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Expect good resistance to many oxidizing chemicals, dry heat, and extreme heat and cold. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Silicone is widely chosen for very good compression set resistance across its range and flexibility that holds at very low temperatures. The material carries a published service range of -80°F (-62.2°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where abrasive dynamic service or concentrated acids are present.

The compound is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Maintenance and OEM teams specify it across pharmaceutical manufacturing, electronics and electrical enclosures, and sanitary process lines.
